The Darood of the Opener — eloquent praise of the Prophet ﷺ as the one who opened the door of guidance.

Virtue & Benefits

Scholars of the Shadhili-Tijaniyya tradition hold that this salawat contains immense blessings. Its name "Al-Fatih" (the Opener) refers to the attribute of the Prophet ﷺ as the one who opened the door of guidance.

When to Recite

As a regular daily dhikr, especially after prayers.

Recommended Times: Once or more after each prayer. 100 times on Friday.

The Darood

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ الْفَاتِحِ لِمَا أُغْلِقَ وَالْخَاتِمِ لِمَا سَبَقَ نَاصِرِ الْحَقِّ بِالْحَقِّ وَالْهَادِي إِلَى صِرَاطِكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ وَمِقْدَارِهِ الْعَظِيمِ
Allahumma salli 'ala Sayyidina Muhammadil-fatihi lima ughliq, wal-khatimi lima sabaq, nasisril-haqqi bil-haqq, wal-hadi ila siratikal-mustaqim, wa 'ala alihi haqqa qadrihi wa miqdarihi azim
Meaning: O Allah, send blessings upon our master Muhammad ﷺ — the Opener of what was closed, the Seal of what came before, the helper of truth with truth, and the guide to Your straight path — and upon his family, according to his true worth and his immense rank.
