Darood-e-Ibrahimi

The Darood-e-Ibrahimi is recited in the final sitting of every Salah, after At-Tahiyyat.

Part 1 โ€” Salat (Blessings)

Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammadin wa 'ala ali Muhammadin kama sallayta 'ala Ibrahima wa 'ala ali Ibrahima innaka hamidun majid
O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad ๏ทบ and upon the family of Muhammad ๏ทบ, as You sent Your blessings upon Ibrahim ๏ทบ and upon the family of Ibrahim ๏ทบ. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.

Part 2 โ€” Barakah (Increase)

Allahumma barik 'ala Muhammadin wa 'ala ali Muhammadin kama barakta 'ala Ibrahima wa 'ala ali Ibrahima innaka hamidun majid
O Allah, send Your blessings of increase upon Muhammad ๏ทบ and upon the family of Muhammad ๏ทบ, as You blessed Ibrahim ๏ทบ and the family of Ibrahim ๏ทบ. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.

When to Recite

  • In the final sitting of every Salah, after At-Tahiyyat
  • After hearing or writing the name of the Prophet Muhammad
  • During Friday (Jumuah) โ€” sending abundant Salawat is especially recommended
  • When beginning and ending supplications

Virtue

The Prophet said: "Whoever sends one blessing upon me, Allah will send ten blessings upon him, erase ten of his sins, and raise him ten degrees." (Sahih Muslim)
