Virtue & Benefits

"Lakh" means 100,000 in the South Asian tradition. Reciting any salawat 100,000 times is known as completing a "Lakh Salawat" — a significant spiritual practice believed to bring immense blessings, forgiveness, and nearness to the Prophet ﷺ.

When to Recite

Typically completed over multiple days or in a dedicated sitting, often on special occasions.

Recommended Times: 100,000 times total (spread over days or a dedicated sitting).

The Darood

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلٰى اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلٰٓى اِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلٰٓى اٰلِ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ اِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammadin wa 'ala ali Muhammadin kama sallayta 'ala Ibrahima wa 'ala ali Ibrahima innaka hamidun majid
Meaning: O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad ﷺ and upon the family of Muhammad ﷺ, as You sent Your blessings upon Ibrahim ﷺ and upon the family of Ibrahim ﷺ. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.
